Chief AI Engineer — ARPEE

Own the agentic ERP — and the fleet of agents that builds it.

Own ARPEE: its architecture, its roadmap, and the correctness of every line that touches money. ARPEE is built largely by agents under human review gates — you are that gate. You will run a team of agents before you run a team of people, and grow the open-source community around both.

Like every role at Angee: Every role at Angee — technical or not — requires that you can code and are fluent in the terminal, Claude Code, Codex, and GitHub version control. You work directly with AI to get things done.

What you'll do

  • Own ARPEE’s architecture and the addon patterns every future module follows.
  • Write specs agents can execute, and run the plan-review and code-review gates at volume — without rubber-stamping.
  • Be accountable for the correctness of money-touching code: double-entry accounting, tax, inventory valuation, reconciliation.
  • Sequence the build queue — manufacturing, HR, point of sale and the rest are specs waiting for your ordering.
  • Build the verification harnesses and evals that make agent-written business logic provably correct.
  • Grow the contributor community around arp-angee and represent it in public.

What you must bring

  • Years of shipping and maintaining open-source ERP modules in production — Odoo, Tryton, ERPNext or similar. This is non-negotiable.
  • The scars to prove it: data migrations, fiscal localizations, inventory revaluations, year-end closes.
  • Accounting semantics as engineering knowledge: double-entry, reconciliation, tax computation, FIFO/AVCO valuation, revenue recognition.
  • Expert Python and Django; strong API design instincts. GraphQL required, MCP a plus.
  • A demonstrated agent-fleet workflow — Claude Code and Codex as your daily team, with review discipline.
  • A public open-source track record, and fluency with AGPL licensing and community norms.

Nice to have

  • REBAC or authorization-system experience.
  • LLM evaluation tooling.
  • A maintainer role in a significant open-source project.

What you get

US-market competitive salary plus stock options in Angee, Inc., a Delaware C-corp, on standard startup terms. Remote-first, with offices on the US East Coast and in Central Europe. And the same agent fleet that builds ARPEE, working next to you from day one.

Step one: contribute

Your contribution target: arp-angee, the ERP itself. Resolved issues, module fixes, or a spec-quality RFC on a missing module all count. Applications without a GitHub ID aren't read.
